NFL : 2* SD

I absolutely loved this play as a Premium Selection earlier in the week but this line has now fallen by nearly a FG which leads us here: The Falcons aren’t as bad as the lines-makers think and the Chargers aren’t quite as good. <O></O>
SD has strung together back-to-back wins at Qualcomm Stadium against Tennessee and Jacksonville as Drew Brees has looked like the 1st pick that SD wanted 3 years ago. The former Boilermaker saw his alma-mater fall from the ranks of the unbeaten Saturday but with Philip Rivers waiting in the wings he’s stepped it up recently. <O></O>
Brees has a 100.0 QB rating completing 60% of his passes for nearly 900 yards and a tidy 8:2 ratio. SD is 12-2 ATS as a Dome Dog of +1½ or more and there are a couple of areas of improvement that has led to their 3-2 record. For one, with Brees looking more like the pivot he was in college, it’s opened things up for LaDainian Tomlinson and the Chargers have responded with a 370-151 rushing edge the last couple of games.<O></O>
Defensively SD is giving up less than 86 YPG on the ground so the Falcons may need to rethink their offensive attack that has seen them run the ball nearly 60% of the time. The intriguing (at least Fox wants you to think so) angle of the game is the fact that Tomlinson is in SD because the Falcons wanted Mike Vick and pulled the draft day trade of 1st round picks. <O></O>
Vick is struggling with the West-Coast offense right now and is taking too long with his reads but that will only improve with time. Time is what his OL (namely RT Weiner) needs to give him more of. Last week Vick was sacked 6 times and fumbled twice while also throwing a pick.
